Surf Lodge

Located on the beautiful shores of Gabriola Island, the historic Surf Lodge and Pub is a great getaway destination for those in search of a stunning natural setting with all the amenities close at hand.

Gabriola offers an amazing variety of outdoor activities, galleries and curious shops to browse. Getting here is easy only a 20 minute plane ride from Vancouver or a 20 minute ferry trip from Nanaimo.

Dining Room Hours – Noon to 7:45 kitchen closes (subject to change without notice)

We are now offering inside and outside (weather permitting) seating noon till close, with amazing views.

Pub – Open 7 days a week

Pub is open Noon – 1 am with last call at 12:30 am (no reservations) Sundays close at midnight. Food service Noon to 7:30 pm.

Thursday night Jam 7 pm to 10 pm weekly.

Please use the back entrance of the building for parking and the hotel & dining room.
Self check-in at the rear of the building envelope on desk. Rooms are upstairs, cabins are behind the main lodge.
Dining Room please wait to be seated.

Table are limited and we will do our very best to accommodate you, although there maybe longer wait times outside till a table becomes available, we apologize for any inconvenience.

I have been to several events this spring at the Surf and am compelled to write about the great staff and improvements to a lovely heritage building.
The new owners/management should be proud of the event planning staff and servers. Top notch.

We stayed here New Year’s Eve. The room was immaculately clean; the bed was fabulously comfortable, with very good linens.
The view of the ocean is amazing. Nice touches, like good coffee, ceramic cups, etc.
The restaurant is very good, and service in all areas is warm and professional.

This place is amazing! The views are beautiful, the rooms are exceptionally unique and the staff are very genuine. The pub is fantastic for a burger or a pint and you can’t beat the beds. Staying at the surf is more akin to staying at a friends house than a resort or a hotel, but it is exactly that charm that made my wife and I fall in live with it in the first place!
